Extended description
Planning and design:
The patellar strap is designed to treat patellar tendon and patella pain as part of conservative treatment by applying pressure to the tendon below the kneecap. The upper part of the strap has an anatomical recess designed to allow free movement of the patella during movement. The silicone pad at the front of the strap provides even pressure distribution on the patellar tendon.
The posterior ligament has minimalist padding whose function is to allow maximum mobility of the knee on the one hand, while taking into account and protecting the blood vessels that pass through this point, on the other.
Pain reduction:
The patellar tendon is a continuation of the quadriceps muscle, and it connects the patellar bone to the shin bone. The patellar ligament to the knee creates pressure that causes a change in the angle of application of the tendon, an action that helps reduce the load on the tendon and reduce the inflammatory process.
In addition, the ligament improves the movement of the patellar bone during knee flexion, maintains smooth movement of the patellar tendon, and provides the tendon with localized heating, which improves blood flow and speeds up recovery.
Rehabilitation and recovery:
Patellar tendon injuries improve through a combination of reducing the type of load that caused the injury and increasing the load of another type of adapted physical activity. Using a strap allows you to perform the desired activity without pain. Using a strap provides positive sensorimotor feedback to the patellar tendon, improves proprioceptive input, increases self-confidence during movement, and reduces pain.
Injury prevention:
Some athletes choose to use this product to prevent the occurrence of injury or pain in this area, especially those who are prone to pain in the area, or who have had a previous injury.
User manual
- You should choose the product that is most suitable for you, depending on your situation.
- Choose the appropriate size according to the size chart on the packaging.
- The silicone pad should be placed just below the patella, which is located at the front of the knee, with the knee slightly bent.
- The strap should be tightened so that pressure is felt on the patellar tendon, but not so much pressure that it stops blood flow.
- Make sure the knee moves in its full range to make sure the ligament does not slip down.
- The patella strap can be used during activity or throughout the day, as needed or according to the therapist's instructions.
- It is recommended to clean the product occasionally depending on the degree of use according to the instructions on the packaging.
